The
FV2381 two wheeled, wide track Cargo Trailer, is capable of
carrying loads of up to 3/4 tonne. The trailer is of sheet
steel, welded construction, with a wooden duckboard and hinged
tailgate. This utility trailer is designed to meet high mobility
load carrying requirements in harsh conditions. To increase
commonality with the standard prime moving vehicle (the Land
Rover Defender XD (Wolf)) these trailers share many key components
with the prime mover. The tyres fitted are Land Rover approved
allowing a trailer wheel to be fitted directly to the prime
mover if required. A spare wheel can also be carried if required
on the trailer A-frame. Two stabilising jacks are provided
at the rear and an adjustable jockey wheel is fitted in front.
The trailer is equipped with lashing points for the load and
for a canvas canopy. Service braking is by means of an overrun
unit that operates hydraulic disc brakes and there is also
a mechanical parking brake. The FV2381 is capable of being
fitted with a variety of payloads including water bowsers,
electrical generators or special purpose box-type bodies.
