Universal Engineering and South Dorset
Engineering, our two manufacturing divisions, demonstrate an extensive
range of capabilities from the production of complex miniature
assemblies weighing just grams to large industrial and military
fabrications weighing more than 20 tonnes.
We excel in manufacturing to the exacting
requirements of customers with specialist or safety critical products.
Large fabrications include structural and mechanical parts for
the defence, specialist vehicle, military trailer, power generation
and oil exploration industries. Small assemblies include close-tolerance
parts for aerospace and industrial controls. Specialised PCB,
electro-mechanical devices and major wiring looms are produced
for surface, airborne, civil and military applications.
Constant investment in both plant and staff
skills, ensures that Universal Engineering Company is able to
service the needs of modern industry with advanced production
methods and the use of exotic materials. Manual and robotic manufacturing
techniques are undertaken by engineers working from CAD models,
raw data, CATIA or original parts. At all stages of a project,
compliance with best practice, internal systems and industry standards
ensures that the correct technology and methodology is employed.
