SCANNING

Drawings, photos, maps and other materials are copied with specialist film cameras up to 1m x 1.5m or digitally scanned up to a maximum size of 0.91m x 30.5m.

16mm and 35mm photographic microfilm is utilised for recording books, fine illustrations, photos and catalogues. Microfiche is used for catalogues, parts lists and drawings. Aperture cards holding 35mm microfilm are used mainly for archiving drawings at higher quality than Microfiche and offer customers space to add typed or hand written text on the card. Duplicates are produced for all formats.
