Universal Engineering provide an extensive range of fabrication, assembly and refurbishment capabilities that have been established to produce structures and sub-assemblies for diverse applications up to 20 tonnes in weight.

We are able to weld aluminium, steel and titanium alloys using both manual and robotically controlled MMA, MIG/MAG and TIG welding processes. We also have the ability to establish the production methods, tooling and tesing procedures required to meet all of our customer's project requirements.

Typical case studies include:
- Large batches of sub-sea distribution equipment
- Production of chassis and sub-frames for high mobility vehicles and trailers
- Missile cannister assembly and refurbishment

Universal Eningeering employ experienced welders and fabricators who are qualified to BS EN 287-1, BS EN ISO 9606 and ASME standards working to weld procedures that conform to BS EN ISO 15614 and ASME IX. All mechanical testing and welding supporting the above approvals is performed by a UKAS accredited testing laboratory (Code A Weld Holdings Ltd) who act as an independent recognised Third Party Organisation, to control and document welding practice. We also produce work for our sister company Griffon Hoverwork, whose work is Lloyds accredited.

At all stages of a project, compliance with best practice, internal systems and industry standards ensures that the correct technology and methodology is employed. During production or at the post production stage we can employ testing centres to provide destructive and non-destructive testing for strength and integrity, hardness, conductivity, magnetic permeability, metallurgy and chemical analysis. For large or heavy items and installations, we construct complex rigs for product testing and evaluation.
